Coalition in support of the construction of
3 World Trade Center

Tens of Thousands of Union Construction and Permanent Jobs,
Completion of the World Trade Center Rebuilding and
Downtown’s Ongoing Revitalization are at Stake

A broad coalition of union construction and building services workers, minority- and women-owned contractors, and leading public officials have urged the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to approve a financing plan that will ensure 3 World Trade Center is built to completion as quickly as possible.

The “Build It Now” coalition is calling upon the Port Authority’s Commissioners to approve a plan, negotiated by the agency’s Acting Chairman Scott Rechler, which would permit Silverstein Properties to obtain the loans necessary to complete construction of 3 WTC. The coalition members will detail how construction of the tower will create tens of thousands of union construction and permanent jobs, ensure the full revitalization of Lower Manhattan, further strengthen the region’s economy, and unlock nearly half a billion dollars in new revenue for the Port Authority.
